How does CAS work?

  • Register your child(ren) and Purchase an Art Class Ticket Book(s)
  • That's all. Once you have registered and purchased a ticket book, you may then phone until 6pm Monday through Friday to sign up for any or all of the following day's regular Children's Art Studio Classes.
  • If you call by 6pm, you are Absolutely Guaranteed to have a place in any or all of the next day's regular classes! You will Never be turned away.
  • That's IMpossible! How do you do it ?!?
    • Firstly, we strictly limit the number of registered students Once we're sold out, we're sold out!
    • Secondly, in addition to our regular teaching staff, every member of the gallery staff is a qualified art teacher - and always available
    • Additionally, in addition to our gallery staff, every member of our management team is an experienced art teacher - and always available
    • Also, many of the professional artists who show here at artists woods are experienced art teachers. Because we show the work of so many artists each season, it's never difficult for us to pull in a few extra super-teachers on short notice
    • Finally, we have the space. We teach in the OK Corral. We teach on the main lawn. We teach by the Art Pond. We teach in the computer studio and the textile studio. We teach in the Atrium and in Alex's painting studio. We use the digital facilities of Atelier AskArt as a teaching studio. Why, we've even been known to throw out the curator and teach in the Main Gallery!
    • In other words, we live to teach. Everyone here teaches because they enjoy imparting their considerable knowledge to others. It's what we do!

Do any classes get full?

Some of our very popular C.A.S. classes tend to fill early and are (limited) in size. These include Beginner's Pottery-on-the-Wheel, Jewelry Making, Silk Screen, and the Art of the T-Shirt. These classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis and early sign-up is advised. Other C.A.S. subjects are taught at the same time as these special classes for those who did not sign up sufficiently early and for those who prefer not to take them.
